Senior backend engineer with 15+ years of experience building scalable, event-driven systems on the JVM. I specialise in Java/Spring Boot, distributed architecture, Kafka, and cloud infrastructure on AWS — with a track record of delivering high-concurrency services at Meituan scale (1000+ QPS, 99.99% availability).

Currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, working at Appzgate Solutions where I build a subscription SaaS platform end-to-end: from Spring Boot microservices and Keycloak IAM to AWS ECS deployments via Terraform.

Outside of work I'm building an NZ Open Banking Platform — a Spring Boot + Kafka backend implementing CDR/FAPI 2.0-style consent APIs, with a Spring AI + RAG compliance assistant running on AWS Bedrock. It's my way of combining banking-grade backend engineering with applied AI in a domain that matters here in NZ.

I use AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) daily as part of my engineering workflow — not as a novelty, but as a genuine productivity layer. I care about knowing when AI adds real product value versus when it doesn't.

Previously: Senior Software Engineer at Meituan.com (2015–2023), one of China's largest tech platforms, where I worked across high-traffic e-commerce, service platforms, and retail supply chain. Before that, Dianping.com (2009–2015), building promotional systems that sustained 1000+ QPS with zero critical failures over two years.
